How To Embed Dropbox Documents using Easy Dropbox Integration

The Embed Documents module in Easy DropBox Integration allows you to display files such as PDFs, Word documents, Excel sheets, MP3s, and MP4s directly on your WordPress website. Visitors can view the content instantly without downloading the files, providing a faster and more seamless user experience.

Step 1: Add the Embed Documents Module

  • Go to ShortCode Builder from your WordPress dashboard.
  • Click Add New ShortCode.
  • Select Embed Documents from the Types tab.
  • You can edit the module by clicking the pencil icon if needed

Step 2: Configure the Sources Tab

In the Sources tab, choose the Dropbox folder where the uploaded files should be saved.

  • Click the Folder button or use the Select Box to select the desired folder.

Step 3: Configure the Filter Tab

  • Allowed Extensions: Enter comma-separated file types (e.g., pdf, docx, xlsx, mp3, mp4) to control which documents are displayed. Leave empty to allow all supported formats.
  • Allow All / Except: Enable Allow All to show every file type, or use Except to exclude specific extensions.
  • Maximum File Numbers: Set a limit on how many documents will be displayed at once.

Step 4: Configure the Advanced Tab

  • Module Container (Width & Height): Set the overall size of the module on your page.
  • Embed Iframe (Width & Height): Define the iframe dimensions for embedded documents (e.g., 100% width and 500px height) to control how the file appears inside the viewer.
  • Show File Name: Enable this option to display the document name above or below the embedded file.

Step 5: Configure the Permissions Tab (Premium Feature)

  • Permission: Choose Everyone to allow all visitors, or Logged In to restrict access to registered users only.
  • Show Access Denied Message: Enable this option to display a message when access is restricted.
  • Denied Message: Enter a custom message to inform users that they do not have permission to view the content.

Output

Once embedded, your selected Dropbox documents will be displayed directly on the page through Easy Dropbox Integration, allowing users to view or edit the files according to your configured permissions and settings
