Using One License for Live, Staging, Dev, and Localhost

Easy DropBox Integration allows a single license to be used across different environments of the same project. This means you can activate the license on your live (production) website as well as on staging, development, or localhost setups for testing purposes. This flexibility helps you safely test updates, new features, or configurations before applying them to your live site, without requiring multiple licenses for the same project.

Domains Automatically Recognized as Staging or Development

In Easy DropBox Integration, certain domains are automatically identified as staging, development, or testing environments. These domains do not count as live license activations, allowing you to test and build without affecting your primary license usage.

TLDs Treated as Development or Staging

The following domain extensions are considered non-production environments:

• *.dev
• *.dev.cc
• *.test
• *.local
• *.staging
• *.example
• *.invalid

Common Subdomains and Hosting-Based Staging URLs

Domains using typical development prefixes or hosting-generated staging URLs are also recognized automatically:

• local.*
• dev.*
• test.*
• stage.*
• staging.*
• stagingN.*
• *.cloudwaysapps.com
• *.wpengine.com, *.wpenginepowered.com
• staging-*.kinsta.com, staging-*.kinsta.cloud

Additionally, any localhost domain, with or without a port number (for example, localhost:3000) is automatically treated as a local development environment.

If a Dev or Staging Site Is Not Detected Automatically

If your development or staging site is not recognized automatically by Easy DropBox Integration, it may be counted as a live activation. First, check that your domain includes common identifiers such as dev, test, or staging. If it still isn’t detected correctly, contact support with your full domain URL, and the team will review and update the license status if applicable.

Multisite Networks

Easy DropBox Integration supports WordPress Multisite networks, but license usage depends on how the network is configured. If the plugin is activated network-wide, the license may apply across all subsites under the same installation. However, if activated individually per subsite, each site may count as a separate activation depending on your license type.

It is recommended to review your license plan details before using the plugin in a multisite environment to ensure compliance with activation limits.
