How To Add Dropbox Videos and Attachments in Tutor LMS?

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 4 views

The Easy Dropbox Integration plugin adds Dropbox support to Tutor LMS: use Dropbox as the video source for course intro videos and lesson videos, and attach downloadable Dropbox files to a lesson — all without hosting large media on your own server.

Step 1: Enable the Tutor LMS Module

  • Go to Settings → Modules → Tutor LMS from the Easy Dropbox Integration dashboard and enable it.
  • Once enabled, Dropbox appears as a video source inside the Tutor LMS course builder.

Step 2: Create or Edit a Course

  • Go to Tutor LMS → Courses → Add New (or edit an existing course).
  • Enter the course title, description, and other course settings as usual.

Step 3: Set a Dropbox Video

  • In the Video box, click Add from URL.
  • From the source dropdown (External URL, YouTube, Vimeo, Embedded, Shortcode), select Dropbox.
  • Click the Choose from Dropbox button that appears.
  • Pick a video from your connected Dropbox account, then click Ok.

This same Video box and Dropbox flow is used for both the course’s intro video and each lesson’s video.

Step 4: Build the Curriculum

  • Open the Curriculum tab and click Add Topic.
  • Enter a topic name and summary, then click OK.
  • Add a Lesson under the topic, enter its content, and repeat Step 3 in the lesson’s own Video box to set its video.

Step 5: Attach Downloadable Dropbox Files to a Lesson

  • In the lesson editor’s Attachments section, click the Dropbox File button next to Tutor LMS’s own Upload Attachment button.
  • Choose one or more files from the Choose from Dropbox modal.
  • Attached files appear on the frontend under the lesson/course with their file size and a direct download link.

Step 6: Save & Publish

Save the lesson and publish the course as usual — the Dropbox video source and any attachments are stored with it.
